The support from Trusts and Foundations is vital to ensure that Southampton Hospitals Charity can enhance the world class care provided at University Hospital Southampton.
Donations we receive from Trusts and Foundations enable us to fund ground-breaking projects that directly impact patient care across the hospital and greatly improve the treatment we provide.
Together with our partners, we directly fund projects which have the ability to be delivered over and above the scope of NHS funding. From funding specialist equipment to pioneering research, you can help enhance care, experience and outcomes for thousands of patients every year.
The innovations we are able to fund with your support have an immeasurable impact.
What funding from Trusts and Foundations has achieved
Recent examples of projects we have funded at the hospital include:
- Funding a mental health safe room for children and young people within our Children’s Emergency and Trauma Department.
- Building an observed play area within our Children’s Emergency and Trauma Department to allow doctors and nurses to properly access poorly children in a more natural environment.
- Supporting our innovative PEEER programme which helps children and young people with chronic kidney conditions to build friendships, engage in extracurricular activities and increase their resilience.
- Enabling ground breaking research into the use of Machine Learning technology in healthcare.
Appeals and projects
Without the support of Trusts and Foundations it would not be possible for us to fund projects like those outlined above. A list of our current appeals and projects can be found here.
Reporting
We will provide you with regular bespoke updates about the impact your donation has made to the Charity’s work, including patient stories and photos in line with your funding requirements.
You will be given the opportunity to visit the hospital so you can see first hand the difference your contribution has made and have the unique ability to hear directly from the clinical teams on the ward how your generosity has impacted their ability to enhance the care and treatment of patients on a daily basis.
In addition, we offer bespoke recognition options for our most generous donors, such as naming opportunities for specific projects, as well as features in our Annual Review, Charity publications, and across our social platforms.
